Is Cross Training Crucial? Professional Runners, Triathletes & Cyclists training hours comparison!
n this video I am going to compare professional distance runners, with triathletes and cyclists. How many hours do they train every week? I compare how many hours athletes like Kipchoge, V.S. Kristian Blumenfelt the famous triathlete or Tadej Pogocar the cyclists train. And explain why I think cross training is crucial for runners once or twice a week as well.

    Yep, you finish what you started. I once foolishly signed up for a 12-hour race without any proper training. Ended up having to walk the last 7 hours of it with agonic hip pain. A couple teens laughed at me for going so slow. It was the worst run of my life. But I fucking finished.

    I have a question If you run 5x 6min or 12x 400m. Do you check mmol/L on the first test, if too low, do you run the next interval faster or slower, depending on what the previous lactate was? Or do you measure lactate after which so that it matches?

    I recently did a double threshold First I ran at 4:00 5x 6' p60s and then at 20:00 18x 400m p60s. And I wasn't particularly tired. It went well for me. I probably haven't run 2x a day in 15 years. And I was afraid of how I would do. I did the tests in February 2024, so I know my speed, at what mmol/L to run.
